Parsing contacts…
Decoding quoted-printable, folded lines and multi-values
Rollphy Pro lifts the file limit and unlocks batch mode.
Drop the .vcf file your phone exported and get one CSV row per contact: full name, first/middle/last split out for mail-merge, organization, title, birthday, then Phone 1, Phone 2…, Email 1… columns sized to the fullest contact in the file. The result opens straight in Excel, Google Sheets or any CRM import wizard that speaks the spreadsheet dialect.
The messy parts of real vCard exports are handled before the table is built: folded lines from long values, quoted-printable text (=E2=80=A6), grouped Apple properties (item1.TEL), escaped commas and semicolons — and BASE64 photo blobs, which stay out of your cells. Where the file carries type labels, each value gets a Google Contacts-style companion column (Phone 1 Type: cell), so you keep which number is the mobile; exports without labels simply skip those columns.
Values that would break the grid — a note holding a comma, a quote or a line break — are quoted per RFC 4180, so the file survives round-trips through spreadsheet imports and the CSV to JSON converter without corruption. Structural properties (VERSION, PRODID, REV, UID) stay out of the table, and unknown X- properties keep their verbatim names as columns rather than being dropped silently. Everything runs in your browser; your address book never leaves your device.
Frequently asked questions
- One row per contact — what about people with several phone numbers?
- They get Phone 1, Phone 2 (and Email 1, Email 2…) columns, sized to the busiest contact in the file. Every contact lands on exactly one row, with empty cells where a value doesn't exist — the shape spreadsheets and import wizards expect.
- Does it keep which number is mobile and which is work?
- Yes, where the file carries type labels: each typed value is joined by a companion column in the Google Contacts CSV style (Phone 1, Phone 1 Type). Exports without labels skip those columns. If you need the full parameter-level detail — photos, per-property types — the vCard to JSON converter keeps everything.
- Are my contacts uploaded?
- No. Parsing and CSV building run entirely in your browser tab. An address book is among the most sensitive data you have, and it never leaves your device here — the page even works offline once loaded.
